Thinking about ditching the razor for good? Laser hair removal is one of the most popular treatments we offer — and for good reason. Here's what to expect.
How Laser Hair Removal Works
Laser hair removal uses concentrated light energy to target the pigment in hair follicles. The heat damages the follicle enough to significantly reduce future growth without harming the surrounding skin. Modern devices are safe for a wide range of skin tones and hair types.
How Many Sessions Will You Need?
Most clients see 80–90% permanent reduction after 6–8 sessions. Hair grows in cycles, and the laser is only effective on follicles in the active growth phase — which is why multiple treatments spaced 4–6 weeks apart are necessary to catch every follicle.
Preparing for Your Appointment
Shave the treatment area 24 hours before your session and avoid sun exposure, tanning beds, and self-tanners for at least two weeks prior. Skip waxing and plucking — the follicle needs to be intact for the laser to work. Arrive with clean, product-free skin.
Aftercare and What to Expect
You may notice redness and mild swelling immediately after treatment — this is normal and typically resolves within a few hours. Avoid heat (saunas, hot showers) for 24–48 hours and apply SPF diligently. Most clients return to their regular routine the same day.
